Where does each setting live?

Settings holds nine tabs in three groups: Account (Profile, Security, Danger Zone), Company (Details, Members) and Invoicing (Branding, Tax settings, Number sequences, Articles). Billing, Email Import, Banking and Affiliates are not in Settings on the web: they are their own entries in the left sidebar. In the mobile app it is the other way round, and almost everything sits under Settings.

Steps

  1. Open Settings from the avatar menu in the top right of the web app.
  2. Account group: Profile for your name and password, Security for 2FA and active sessions, Danger Zone to delete a company or your account.
  3. Company group: Details for company data, VAT ID and the data export, Members for teammates and the tax-advisor invite.
  4. Invoicing group: Branding, Tax settings, Number sequences and Articles.
  5. For Billing, Email Import, Banking or Affiliates, use the left sidebar instead. On mobile they sit under Settings.

The short version

Settings is one page with nine tabs, arranged in three groups. Several things people go looking for in Settings are not there on the web, because they are big enough to be their own screen in the sidebar. That difference is the single most common reason someone says they cannot find something.

The nine tabs

Account is about you, the person, and applies wherever you are signed in.

  • Profile: your name, your email, your password, and the newsletter opt-in.
  • Security: two-factor authentication, your backup codes, the list of active sessions and the login history. Revoking a session is here.
  • Danger Zone: deleting a company, and deleting your account.

Company is about the company you have selected in the switcher, and changes here affect everyone in it.

  • Details: company name, legal form, country, address, VAT ID or tax number. The Data Export panel is also on this tab, at the bottom.
  • Members: teammates and their roles, pending invitations, and the separate Invite Tax Advisor card.

Invoicing covers what appears on the invoices you send.

  • Branding: logo, colours, bank details and the footer of your outgoing invoices.
  • Tax settings: your VAT scheme and the defaults used when an invoice is created.
  • Number sequences: the numbering of your outgoing invoices. See invoice numbering sequences.
  • Articles: your reusable products and services. See products and the article catalog.

What is not in Settings on the web

These are entries in the left sidebar, not tabs:

You are looking for It is here
Plan, invoices, payment method Billing
Connected inboxes, forwarding address, activity log Email Import
Bank connections and statement imports Banking
Referral codes, commissions, payouts Affiliates

Each of them is a full screen with its own tabs, which is why they are not folded into a settings page.

Mobile is shaped the other way round

The mobile app has no sidebar. Almost everything lives under Settings, and several rows have different names there:

Web Mobile
Billing in the sidebar Settings → Billing & Plan
Email Import in the sidebar Settings → Email Accounts
Banking in the sidebar Settings → Banking
Affiliates in the sidebar Settings → Affiliates
Settings → Details Settings → Company
Settings → Members Settings → Team

If a set of steps somewhere sends you to a tab you cannot find, check which of the two you are on first. It is usually that.

Who sees what

Settings shows the tabs your role allows. A company owner sees all nine. Other roles keep the Account group in full, because it is about them, and see less of the Company and Invoicing groups. A tab you cannot see is not hidden by a bug; it is a permission. See companies, users, and roles.

The same applies in the sidebar: Billing and Affiliates are owner territory, and a teammate who cannot see them is not missing an update.

Common questions

I changed a setting and nothing happened. Check the company switcher at the top. The Company and Invoicing groups apply to the selected company, so on a multi-company account it is easy to edit the wrong one.

Where do I export everything? Settings → Details, the Data Export panel at the bottom. It covers documents, invoices and transactions. See export your records for year-end.

Where do I invite my accountant? Settings → Members, the Invite Tax Advisor card, which is separate from the normal teammate invite. See invite your tax advisor.

Where do I delete my account? Settings → Danger Zone. Deleting a company and deleting your account are two different actions on that tab. See delete your account and export your data.
